Steppingstone Institute of Professional Development stands to enhance and empower all professionals including the nurses through the betterment of their competences and skills. In order to make these candidates internationally viable and competitive we train the nurses to make a professional development in tandem with their professional project. As SIPD India stands for the international mobility, the best practices and the utilization of available resources and skills of our candidates for the service of society, we encourage our candidates with a professional project of international mobility to update and develop their skills and competences in tandem with the professional requirements of the countries where they choose to work.

In order to enhance the professional competences of our candidates who are Registered Nurses in India we provide them professional development training programs in the following fields to match their skills with that of the nurses in the country that they choose to work. Professional Nursing adaptation program of SIPD is provided along with our partner institutions abroad. In order to be eligible to undertake the complete nursing adaptation program, the students must undergo the prerequisite courses at SIPD through its residential program.  On the successful completion of the courses listed below, the candidates will be automatically enrolled for the program of training in our partner institution.

1. Postgraduate Diploma in Geriatric Care

With an increasingly ageing population comes higher healthcare and social care costs, and more age-related causes of morbidity and mortality. This means that there is a fast growing need for healthcare staff to have relevant up-to-date training and knowledge within elderly care, to meet the needs of an ageing society. Our program is specially developed for healthcare professionals looking to further their clinical knowledge within elderly care.

Students of the Postgraduate Diploma in Geriatric care further their knowledge through self-directed learning, tutor guided discussions and collaboration and learning with their colleagues in a multidisciplinary team. This Postgraduate Diploma is for Registered Nruses from India who look forward to acquire skills, knowledge and competence in caring for the elderly keeping in mind the standard of care and ethical issues as practiced and applied in Europe and in other Western countries.

On successful completion of the course, students will be able to: 

• + To provide a comprehensive, systematic and critical appraisal of issues in caring for older people to facilitate the implementation of    evidence-based care and best practice.
• + To develop skills that aid career progression and leadership potential within a complex and rapidly changing delivery environment.

This program consists of both theoretical instructions and clinical practice in a recognised geriatric centre for residential care for 4 weeks.

2. Postgraduate Diploma in Mental Health and Care

This programs trains the Nurses to come out of the social taboos and prejudices concerning the mental health issues and in the subsequent care issues. This course enables the candidates to acquire skills and knowledge in such a way that their sphere of competence is widely opened to the European standard of care in mental health issues.

The course is structured in such a way that the students follow theoretical lessons and a clinical placement in a center for mental health issues for a minimum of 4 weeks.

3. Diploma in Advanced Care

The is a formation that SIPD opened for those nurses with a goal of international professional mobility. The candidates are trained to understand the differences of conceptualization and applications of care issues in India and the West. This course trans the candidates to familiarize themselves with the differences in care and practice between India and the country that the candidate chooses to move to undertake the Nursing adaptation program.

4. Learning a European Language up to B1 Level

All candidates enrolled at SIPD Anakkara for a nursing adaptation program must undergo language study program up to B1 level prior to proceeding to the partner institution of SIPD in Europe or elsewhere abroad. SIPD provides intensive language courses in all major European languages.
